THE JOURNEY

1977

The building dates back to 1977, when
it was built by Wolverhampton firm
AM Griffiths & Sons as the new
‘Staffordshire House’ headquarters for
the Staffordshire Building Society.

2008

Carilion Take Over Building and
spend over £5 million on refurbing it
then became its official headquarters in
2015.

2020

Lloyd James Media Group take over, acquiring
the full 6 floors. The building will also feed in
to the £55m regeneration of the neighbouring
Westside area of the city. The leisure-led £55m
development will deliver a multiplex cinema,
leisure space, new restaurants, a 100-plus bed
hotel and a multi-storey car park.

2021

84 Salop Street’s new café is set to open in the summer of 2021. Lloyd James Media Group have invested heavily into the buildings’ amenities, the new café is just one project that has come out of such plans.
